Anthropic, the San Francisco company behind the Claude AI chatbot, has publicly filed to go public, setting up what could be one of the largest stock market debuts on record.

The company plans to list on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. It has not yet set the number of shares or a price range, but reports put its possible valuation at $1.5 trillion or more.

The filing shows revenue of about $16.3 billion in the first six months of 2026, up from about $1.2 billion a year earlier. It also shows a net loss of $80.7 billion for the period, most of it a non-cash accounting charge of about $72 billion linked to convertible notes. The operating loss was far smaller, at $693 million.

The filing came on a busy day for AI funding news and lifted technology shares on Wall Street, as investors weigh whether the huge sums needed to build AI systems will pay off.
